Woman with weird name shares the awkward experiences she has ordering coffee

A woman who claims to have a weird name has revealed how awkward ordering a coffee can be.

TikTok user Starr Anyse has had her fair share of awkward encounters at the coffee shop counter, with her self-professed "weird name" regularly leaving baristas baffled.

For Australia-based Starr, ordering her favourite beverage isn't quite as easy as just giving her name, and she'll sometimes have to put up with being mistaken for a "Sky" or a "Sarah."

Starr uploaded a sketch video where she acted out both the parts of herself and the barista, revealing to her 129,000 followers what a typical coffee shop outing entails for her, Mirror reports.

In the video, captioned "Starr Anyse here", Starr can be seen politely asking for an oat milk cappuccino, looking visibly stressed when the barista asks for her name.

Laughing nervously, Starr – who goes by the username @starr – can be seen pausing for a beat or so before reluctantly telling the confused barista, "It's Starr."

The barista replies, "Sarah?", apparently having been left so baffled by the lesser heard name that she assumed she'd misheard.

Trying again, Starr gestures above her head as if pointing towards a helpful cluster of twinkling stars.

Unfortunately, this doesn't ease the barista's confusion one bit, who goes on to guess "Scar", "Sriachi", and "Moon" before ultimately landing on "Sky."

By this point, Starr appears so worn out by the encounter that she accepts the name the barista has decided upon, despite it not being her own, smiling defeatedly and popping her hand up.

In the comments section, Starr claimed this is something she has to "live out daily", joking that she also accepts the names "Universe and Galaxy".

Many followers could relate to Starr's plight all too well, with one person admitting they "have two wildly bland decoy names for this exact reason."

Another laughed: "That’s why sometimes if I’m ordering with my husband I’ll just use his name, saves a lot of fuss!"
