5.30pm Arsenal news LIVE: Ceballos £24m bid, Upamecano £40m January interest, Arteta, Vieira or Nuno could replace Emery – The Sun

ARSENAL went down to an abject 1-0 loss at Sheffield United on Monday and must now prepare for Vitoria in the Europa League.

Unai Emery's Gunners remain outside the top four after missing the chance to go third, with Pepe fluffing a sitter from inside the six yard box.

  • EMMANUEL PETIT has lashed out at Unai Emery claiming “nothing has changed” since Arsene Wenger left.

The Frenchman also claimed the current Arsenal team “p***es him off”.

The Gunners sit fifth in the Premier League on just 15 points and lost 1-0 at Sheffield United last time out.

And the North Londoners have only started a season this badly four times since Arsene Wenger first took charge of the club.

  • ROB HOLDING has taken up yoga to accelerate his ambitious bid for an England call-up.

The Arsenal defender will step-up his comeback from last year’s cruciate injury with a Europa League return against Vitoria Guimaraes tomorrow night.

Holding, 24, is frustrated at not playing a Premier League game since returning to action last month after after nine months on the sidelines.

But the player who has never lost a game under Unai Emery is confident that he is going to play a big role this season.

And he reveals he has taken his inspiration from football’s great survivor, saying: “When I grew up my mum got me a Ryan Giggs DVD of his yoga and talking about how it lengthened his career.

“I thought to myself ‘if it’s good enough for Ryan Giggs, it’s good enough for me.’

“So I’ve been doing yoga for about four years now and I would say there’s about six players at Arsenal who are joining in with the sessions.

“We do one session a week and it’s purely optional. But Freddie Ljungberg joins in as well and we all enjoy it.”

  • ARSENAL fans are experiencing a Groundhog Day Effect as Unai Emery replicates Arsene Wenger's final days at the club.

A huge amount of goodwill came the Spaniard's way as he began life in the Emirates dugout – but they are now back to square one.

Emery put together a 14-game unbeaten run to have Arsenal well in the race for the Champions League in the lead up to last Christmas.

Rather than herald the new immaculate era fans had hoped for, it turned into the sort of false dawn that Wenger became known for in his later years.

And the subsequent collapse has crashed the Gunners back down to earth with an all-too familiar feeling.

When taking into account the managers' last 30 Premier League games for the club, Emery only has a single point more than Wenger.

Both men won 15 games, a success rate of 50 per cent, while the Frenchman drew five and lost ten to his successor's six draws and nine defeats.

  • FORMER Arsenal youth team midfielder Steve Sidwell has revealed Roy Keane once told him to “f*** off” after he asked for his signature.

The ex-Ireland international recently criticised Man Utd and Liverpool players for hugging each other before their clash.

Speaking of Keane, Sidwell told JOE.co.uk: “I can see what Roy Keane is saying,' said the former Fulham midfielder.

“I remember being at Arsenal when I was in the youth system.

“I was at Highbury with my match day programme and he told me to f*** off because he was going out to war against Arsenal.

“It was a tight tunnel and I was just like “okay”, but now looking back on it I know what it means to him. They were going down there and they're arch rivals.”
