Andy Ruiz Jr hits back at Tyson Fury ‘fat’ jibes and claims he is just trying to ‘stay relevant’ as he prepares for Anthony Joshua rematch – The Sun

TYSON FURY'S latest jibe at Andy Ruiz Jr has been brushed off by the heavyweight champ, who has put the Gypsy King's comments down to trying to "be relevant".

The Mexican is actually a fan of Fury's despite his claim that Anthony Joshua had been "knocked out by this little fat guy".

Dismissing the comments to TMZ, Ruiz Jr remarked: "Tyson Fury, he wants to be relevant.

"He wants to be in the scene.

"I like the guy too. I'm a big fan of him. I like how he is. I like his energy."

Joshua's potentially career defining rematch with Ruiz Jr is set for December in Saudi Arabia – and some are already discussing who the Brit could face next once he dethrones his rival.

Comparatively little talk has been dedicated to the current belt holder's future but another victory over AJ could set him on a collision course with Fury.

Ruiz Jr stated: "I don't wanna look past Anthony Joshua.

"I want to win on December 7, then maybe me and him can get in a fight too."

Fury, 31, doesn't necessarily think beating Ruiz Jr, 29, would be a difficult task.

Ahead of his bout with little-known Swede Otto Wallin, Fury delivered his verdict on his rivals.

Speaking to ESPN, he claimed Ruiz Jr to be: "Just an average boxer.

"Hand speed doesn't just cut it. There's a lot of heavyweights who have hand speed.

"I can beat him with one hand tied behind me back. And even if they want me to stay against the ropes,

"I'd still beat him out there.

"All these guys are bums compared to me."
