Arsenal director Edu reveals summer transfer plans with Mikel Arteta getting just ‘one or two’ new signings

ARSENAL manager Mikel Arteta has been promised "one or two" main signings this summer by technical director Edu.

The Gunners defeated Manchester United 3-1 on Saturday as they push on for a top four finish.

And Edu told ESPN Brazil about club plans for new signings this summer.

The former midfielder said: "We are going to focus on signing one or two players.

"After last summer revolution, we need the next step.

"We have our strategy ready.

"Our planning has already been done, it has already reached the owners.

"It's a matter of step by step, how we are going to finish the season and put the plan in place that I'm very excited about."

There was no comment on whether the deal to lure Gabriel Jesus was one of the signings already agreed with the owners.

But reports confirm that will leave Manchester City this summer.
