Arsenal 'launch £37m double transfer swoop for Sampdoria duo Dennis Praet and Joachim Andersen'

ARSENAL are ready to blow the majority of their summer transfer budget on Sampdoria duo Dennis Praet and Joachim Andersen, according to reports.

Boss Unai Emery only has around £40million to spend after missing out on Champions League football for a third consecutive season.

The Spaniard will have more cash to spend only if he raises it through player sales.

And reports claim that Emery is ready to fork out £37m on the Serie A pair.

Praet, 25, is being eyed as a direct replacement for Aaron Ramsey who left to join Juventus on a free transfer this summer.

A Belgium international, Praet has been an instrumental figure for Sampdoria in the last three seasons featuring over 30 times in the league.

And he will also try to sign his team-mate and central defender Andersen.

The 23-year-old has been tipped for a big move across Europe this season after helping Sampdoria to a ninth place finish.

Andersen has already been linked with moves to Manchester United, Tottenham and AC Milan.

Sampdoria are believed to be willing to cash in if the price is right but want to hold out for a fee closer to £45m.

Emery is prioritising bolstering his midfield and defence in the summer as they chose not to retain Denis Suarez's services for next season.

He is also looking at the prospect of signing Paris Saint-Germain defender Thomas Meunier.
