Arsenal target Gabriel Magalhaes comments on Lille pal Pepe's FA Cup celebrations – convincing fans over transfer

GABRIEL MAGALHAES teased Arsenal fans wanting to see the defender sign for the club with a congratulations message on their FA Cup win.

As Nicolas Pepe broadcast his celebrations after the Gunners beat Chelsea at Wembley, the Lille star dropped a well done message by the Ivorian.

Two bicep-flexing emojis showed Gabriel's happiness at seeing Arsenal win.

A handful of fans took the congratulations as a sign that the centre-back wants to join the club.

However, wary viewers were keen to point out that Gabriel was simply revelling in old Lille pal Pepe's success.

Twitter user Eddie joked: "Definitely signing now."

And one Gooner wrote: "Announce flight info."

While an Arsenal fan pleaded: "Stop jinxing it."

Alas, one United fan was quick to remind the Gunners: "Means literally nothing."

And another viewer tweeted: "They’re former teammates so don’t read too much into this."

Before Gooner Bhupinder perfectly summed up: "You mean you want a measured response to a mundane thing from our fanbase, na fam we don't do that here."

Ahead of a £72million switch to Arsenal last summer, winger Pepe spent two seasons with Gabriel in Northern France.

Both joined in 2017 with the Brazilian breaking into the side this season after loan spells away from the club.

Manchester United, Everton and Napoli have all been linked with Gabriel and Lille expect the defender to leave soon.

Club owner Gerard Lopez recently told L'Equipe: "With Gabriel, we are talking and we’ve given him an exit pass. He will choose his club this week."

Reports in Italy suggest a £27m bid from the Red Devils could get a deal off the ground however Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now wants Chris Smalling to return to the first-team next season.
