Barcelona working on bringing Alexis Sanchez back in emotional loan transfer from Inter after falling out of favour

ALEXIS SANCHEZ could be about to make a sensational return to Barcelona after falling out of favour at Inter Milan.

The Chile striker spent three years at the Nou Camp before leaving for Arsenal back in 2014.

He has recently struggled for minutes at Inter – where he moved as a Manchester United flop following his star turn with the Gunners.

Now reports in Spain say Sanchez could be on his way back to Catalonia in a complicated swap deal involving THREE clubs.

The move could hinge on the future of Luuk de Jong, who is on loan at Barca from Sevilla.

The centre-forward is surplus to requirements in new boss Xavi’s squad.

Inter would be happy to have him and keen to send Sanchez in the opposite direction.

And crucially it appears Sevilla would agree to the exchange, with the ex-PSV man likely to get more game-time in Serie A.

Sanchez played alongside Xavi in a Barca side crammed with talent.

They triumphed in the 2012-13 LaLiga season, having lifted the Copa del Rey the year before.

Xavi took over at the Spanish giants last month after club legend Ronald Koeman was axed as manager.

If Sanchez does return he will line up alongside another former team-mate – Dani Alves recently rejoined his old club at the age of 38.
