Carmelo Anthony finally gets back into NBA with Trail Blazers

Carmelo Anthony will play again after all.

The 35-year-old ex-Knicks star will sign a non-guaranteed contract with the Portland Trail Blazers, ESPN reported on Thursday.

Anthony was unable to find NBA suitors after a disastrous 10-game stint with the Houston Rockets in 2018-19. He was traded to the Chicago Bulls, but was immediately bought out.

That doesn’t mean he wasn’t drawing interest, however. The Lakers and Nets were linked to the 16-year NBA veteran during his elongated free agency, but no team was willing to take him on until now.

The Blazers are scheduled to face the Rockets on Monday.
