Chelsea head out for stroll around sunny Istanbul ahead of Super Cup with Liverpool amid rumours Christian Pulisic is set to start – The Sun

CHELSEA'S squad soaked up the sunshine in Istanbul ahead of the Super Cup clash against Liverpool.

Frank Lampard's men will be hoping to bounce back after the disastrous 4-0 defeat to Manchester United on the opening day of the Premier League season.

But the Blues attempted to put this weekend's woes behind them as they enjoyed a leisurely stroll through the picturesque city.

Olivier Giroud smiled for the camera as Christian Pulisic kept a straight face amid claims he is set to start the match.

The American star, 20, did not make the starting XI for the showdown against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side at Old Trafford.

He was introduced to replace Ross Barkley in the 58th minute, but was unable to inspire a comeback for the Blues.

Lampard stressed after the game that he was dropped to the bench because he plans to be patient with the ex-Dortmund star.

He said: "Christian Pulisic is 20 years old, he's come across from Dortmund, he's going to be a fantastic player for the club, I believe.

"He's got great ability, you saw little moments of his acceleration on the ball today, but I've got other options in midfield and in those sort of areas.

"I don't want to stick Christian straight into the fire without helping him along the way."

N'Golo Kante, who is set to start after not being named in the starting XI on Sunday, grinned as he strolled alongside Kurt Zouma.

Chelsea could also welcome back Willian after the Brazilian missed Sunday's bruising defeat.

The Europa League winners will face the 2018/19 Champions League winners at the Vodafone Arena before they take on Leicester in the league.
