Chelsea new boy Saul Niguez set to make debut versus Aston Villa at weekend after impressing Thomas Tuchel in training

SAUL NIGUEZ has not taken long to get comfortable at Chelsea, according to reports.

The Spaniard joined on loan on transfer deadline day, and Blues have the option to make his move permanent if they wish.

And given he has impressed Thomas Tuchel already, he could be in for a successful spell at Stamford Bridge.

According to football.london Saul has settled at Chelsea already, dishing out instructions to some of his high-profile team-mates during a training session conducted by Tuchel.

Saul brings a wealth of experience to the club having won La Liga, the Europa League twice and finished as runner-up in the Champions League in 2016.

And with many senior Chelsea players currently away on international duty, it seems the midfielder has already taken on some leadership responsibilities.

That could be key to him breaking into the Chelsea line-up ahead of N'Golo Kante or Jorginho, who was one of the best players at Euro 2020.

That pair were also valuable to winning Chelsea the Champions League last term.

But Saul has already impressed team-mate Marcos Alonso in the few training sessions they have shared.

The defender told Chelsea's official website: "He's a great player. His conditions are going to be good for the Premier League.

"He is strong physically, he is very good in the air."

Saul will be pushing to start this weekend against Aston Villa, and having enjoyed a rest period over the international break – unlike Jorginho – he could be handed his Blues debut by Tuchel.
