Chelsea striker Ike Ugbo, 21, wanted by QPR and Coventry in £2.5m transfer with starlet’s deal running out next summer – The Sun

CHELSEA whizkid Ike Ugbo is on QPR’s wanted list in a £2.5million deal.

The striker, 21, was on loan at Dutch second tier side FA Roda until the season was cancelled last month – scoring 13 goals in 29 games.

Chelsea’s Championship neighbours in West London are now eyeing up a move for the one-time academy player who has been with them since the age of nine.

League One table toppers Coventry City are also tracking Londoner Ugbo whose contract with Chelsea expires next summer.

England youth international Ugbo has also spent time on loan at Barnsley, MK Dons and Scunthorpe United.

Ugbo is rated as one of the top young prospects at Chelsea after starring for their youth sides over the last couple of years.

His goals helped them to capture several trophies, including the Uefa Youth League, FA Youth Cup and the U18s Premier League where he netted 24 goals in the 2015/16 campaign.

He has been at Stamford Bridge since he was 10 before he was shipped out on loan to the Tykes in 2017.

The Blues had considered recalling the marskman from FA Roda after it was claimed he has not been paid his £38,000 wages in October.

The Dutch club were thought to be spreading the English star's pay packet across the rest of the squad instead of to the player himself.

But the Englishman stuck it out with the Eredivise side before the coronavirus crisis KO'd the top flight in Holland,

Ajax were denied the Eredivisie title on April 24 after dutch PM Mark Rutte banned football.
