Coleen Rooney furious at husband Wayne’s Derby deal with bookies 32Red after he blew £1million in betting spree – The Sun

COLEEN Rooney is furious with husband Wayne’s mega-money tie-up with betting firm 32Red — after he previously gambled away £1million in one night.

England legend Wayne, 33, will promote the company and they will pay his £90,000-a-week wages when he joins Championship side Derby County in January.

But the deal has not gone down with his wife.

A source said: “While Coleen was on cloud nine about the move back to the UK, this has cast a shadow.

“She and Wayne’s family are concerned about what the deal with this company entails and whether he will be tempted back into the gambling lifestyle, which he used to love in England before.”

Wayne, who currently plays for DC United in the US, was said to have blown up to £1million on roulette, blackjack and other games in just a few hours at Manchester’s 235 Casino in 2017.

He also spoke about his gambling issues in his 2006 autobiography and admitted: “I had an idea I was doing badly and did what most gamblers do.

"I chased my bets and tried to recoup my losses by putting on bigger sums.”

As part of the new deal with 32Red, Rooney will wear the number 32 shirt for Derby when he joins as player-coach.

An interview for the firm’s TV channel is expected to be the first in a long line of commercial commitments.

Ex sports minister Richard Caborn labelled the deal as “not the brightest” and said: “It will not go down well with football authorities or the Government.”

The Sun reported yesterday that dad-of-four Wayne was quitting the US to save his 11-year marriage to Coleen.
