Dan Patrick discusses health issues, including depression, memory loss, in emotional show

Dan Patrick used Thursday's broadcast of The Dan Patrick Show to open up about the health issues that have plagued him for the better part of a decade.

Patrick revealed in an emotional segment that he suffers from Polymyalgia rheumatica, which he described as constant, extreme joint pain. In an effort to remedy the issues from Polymyalgia rheumatica, he started taking Prednisone. Though the medication helped the pain, it led to issues like depression, personality change and suicidal thoughts.

Since Patrick wanted to stop taking the drug, doctors recommended light chemotherapy IVs. That treatment had its own side effects, which included daily headaches and memory loss.

Patrick described not being able to remember Albert Pujols' name during a show, how to start his car or forgetting regular tasks like shopping for a specific item and leaving with something totally different.

He did say his condition has shown some improvement.

Plenty of people across sports media wished Patrick the best and applauded him for his openness.
