Euro 2020 tickets: Are they valid for new 2021 dates, can I get a refund and when will more be released? – The Sun

EURO 2020 will not be held this summer as the coronavirus wreaks havoc across Europe.

With domestic football already cancelled across the board, Uefa have taken the tough decision to postpone this summer's showpiece.

Uefa bigwigs met on Tuesday, March 17 and confirmed that Euro 2020 will be pushed back a YEAR until the summer of 2021.

Can I use Euro 2020 tickets for next year?

MANY of you had already secured tickets for the finals via a ballot last year.

Applications went out in June 2019, with tickets then put on sale for successful applicants last December.

The Euros are being held across 12 European countries for the first time, rather than by a single host nation.

As such, there was little option but to postpone with the current lockdown situation in Italy, Spain and France looking likely to continue into the next few months.

Uefa have confirmed that if you already have tickets for Euro 2020, they WILL be valid for the tournament next year.

What if I can't go in 2021?

THE governing body have also released details on refunds for fans who are unable to make the new dates.

Next year's tournament is now due to take place between June 11 and July 11, 2021.

Anyone who already has tickets to the tournament and can't make it will receive a full refund.

The statement read: "EURO 2020 was scheduled to take place in twelve cities across Europe from June 12 to July 12 2020.

"The proposed new dates are June 11 to July 11, 2021.

"Uefa would like to reassure existing ticket buyers and hospitality clients that if they cannot attend the tournament in 2021, the face value of their ticket and packages will be refunded in full.

"Within the next month, further information on the refund process will be communicated to existing ticket buyers via email and on euro2020.com/tickets."

When will more be released?

THAT information isn't yet available.

But Uefa have assured fans that they will communicate with supporters who need a refund or to return tickets.

They will then in due course resell the returned tickets through their official channels.
