'He'd have me to deal with' – Carragher warns Liverpool star Mane he will NOT let him make Bayern Munich transfer

JAMIE CARRAGHER warned Sadio Mane he will not let him leave Liverpool for Bayern Munich.

The Reds forward, 30, is said to be a summer target for the German giants who want to make a "statement signing".

And the Senegal star's agent even held talks with Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic in Majorca over the weekend.

Barcelona are also reportedly interested in landing him.

Like pal Mo Salah, Mane has just one year left on his current Anfield contract with negotiations over an extension said to be "difficult".

But Liverpool legend Carragher is desperate for the ex-Southampton man to stay on Merseyside – and joked the ace would "have me to deal with" if he tries to force through a move.

Carra told Sky Sports: "When I have watched Liverpool as a fan, Sadio Mane is my favourite player.

"There is just something about Mane. He's sacrificed himself at times and the shift he puts in.

"He, along with Salah, has been doing that for five years – they are never injured.

"They are there week in, week out for 90 minutes, getting the numbers up there every week.

"There's been talk of Bayern wanting him – you cannot let him go.

"He's as important as any of them. Luis Diaz, Salah, any of them."

And Dion Dublinhailed the "incredible" forward, who has 119 goals in 266 Liverpool appearances, adding: "His numbers are incredible, only getting better.

"Jurgen Klopp has managed that front four and five amazingly.

"It suits him being up front. He can put himself in goalscoring positions. Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota, they're great team-mates to have."

'VERY HAPPY'

Mane has moved into a more central role this season, especially since the arrival of Diaz in January.

The Africa Cup of Nations winner is on 22 goals this season, including the clever headed winner against Aston Villa last night.

And he insisted he is "very happy" with life at Anfield, where he could still win the quadruple this season.

Mane said: "I am honestly very happy. I am just trying to enjoy every moment and assist my team-mates.

“Without my teammates I’m nothing.”

Boss Klopp indicated he wants Mane to stick around for many more years after hailing him as a “world-class player.”
