Herbie Kane: The Steven Gerrard wannabe and Liverpool youngster impressing on loan in League One

HERBIE KANE is now flying.

The Liverpool youngster, who was name-checked by Steven Gerrard in his autobiography as one by the future, has been a revelation on loan at Doncaster Rovers.

A box-to-box midfielder, Kane, 20, has found the back of the net six times and produced a series of swashbuckling displays reminiscent of the Anfield legend.

And that's no coincidence, because Gerrard was Kane's hero when he was growing up.

The Bristolian, who joined the Reds at the age of 14 in 2013, used to wear jerseys with Gerrard's name and number on the back.

Kane would try and emulate some of the screamers that the famous No. 8 scored while playing football in his garden.
