Lewis Hamilton sells the £25m candy red private jet he used to fly pet bulldogs around the world and once had row with pilot for ‘using toilet’

LEWIS HAMILTON has sold his candy red private jet as he no longer needs it.

The F1 world champion took delivery of the £25million Bombardier Challenger 605 in 2013 and regularly featured on his social media as he used it to jet across the globe.

It also drew criticism after being named in the Paradise Papers – despite him being cleared of any wrong-doing with a VAT payment.

Hamilton's beloved bulldog Coco was a regular passenger on the jet, flying regularly from LA to London to catch up with pal Roscoe.

And the British F1 star reportedly had an argument with the aircraft's pilot after he found out he had pooped in the driver's private toilet.

However, the 34-year-old has sold the jet on as it did not make financial sense while it was also not in keeping with his views on sustainable living.

Ahead of the French GP last week, Hamilton posted a throwback image of when he used to own his jet.

The jet, which used to have the call sign G-LCDH – his initials Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton – has now been given a new identity.

Even though it had been registered to TAG Group, the owners of the Brit's former team McLaren, Hamilton had been using it despite driving for Mercedes from 2012.

From February, however, the jet was owned by private jet firm, Saxon Air, who are based at Norwich Airport.

Hamilton, who now has a plant-based diet, is outspoken on a number of environmental issues.

Earlier this month he criticised the killing of whales and dolphins, writing on Instagram. "This is so upsetting. How can you honestly do this to another being. Disgusted!"
