Frank Lampard’s search for his first Champions League win as Chelsea manager takes him to Lille OSC, where defeat against the Ligue 1 side could make qualification from the group appear ominous.

Valencia beat Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on matchday one, and defeat in France this evening could see Chelsea fall six points behind the top two sides hould Valencia beat Ajax in the other Group H match.

The Chelsea manager said N’Golo Kante trained “okay” after the French midfielder missed the 1-0 win against Brighton at the weekend. Olivier Giroud and Kurt Zouma are available again after also missing the Premier League win. Ex-Blues forward striker Loic Remy and former Renato Sanches, ex-Bayern Munich, could both be key to Lille’s success.

After starting their Champions league campaign with a shock 1-0 defeat at home, Lampard will be hoping that this loss will give his side more focus in their meeting with the French side.

But Lille  have won eight games in a row at home and have Ligue 1’s joint top goal scorer Victor Osimhen, suggesting Chelsea might struggle to gain the three points they desperately want.

Expect a close game but for Chelsea to secure a tight 2-1 victory.
