Liverpool vs Arsenal LIVE SCORE: Mane nets after avoiding red card as Lacazette misses two sitters in Premier League – The Sun

LIVERPOOL are hosting Arsenal with Sadio Mane the talking point after netting an equaliser having avoided a red card for a forearm challenge on Kieran Tierney.

Alexandre Lacazette scuffed the ball past Alisson following an error from Andy Robertson to put the Gunners in front.

But just two minutes later Mane pounced on a Bernd Leno mistake to tap home the equaliser.

And Robertson then atoned for his error by dinking the ball over Leno to give Liverpool the lead.

Lacazette should have had far more than one goal but found himself seeing two sitters comfortably saved by Alisson in the second half.

It's notable not only for a smart piece of defending, but also because it's the first time I've noticed the Arsenal forward in a long while.

    64. Mane nearly makes Lacazette and Arsenal pay at the other end!

The return ball following a one-two with Firmino falls for the Senegalese forward in the box, but he's falling and on the turn as he tries to scoop his shot in and it drops just wide.

    63. Another clear sight of goal for Lazazette, but again his fires straight at Alisson!

The striker must know he's well off anyway. That can be the only excuse for his feeble attempted chip into the hands of Alisson.

The flag then goes up to spare his blushes.

Opta registed just five successful passes from Arsenal in the final third, their lowest amount in 14 years since records began.

As Roy Keane points out, however, “the scoreline is the most important statistic in football” and the visitors are still in this game.
