Man City's odds to win Premier League slashed after crucial Liverpool win

MANCHESTER CITY'S odds to win the Premier League title have been slashed after their crucial win over Liverpool.

The bookies believe there is barely anything between the two clubs as we pass the half way stage of the season.

Leroy Sane's winner in a breathtaking 2-1 victory for the current champions means they are now four points behind Liverpool.

City were 7/4 before kick-off last night but their price has dropped to just even money.

Liverpool remain narrow favourites for their first league title since 1990 but have drifted from 4/7 to 10/11.

Alex Apati from Ladbrokes said: "Every point now counts for both City and Liverpool, and despite the latter being four points clear at the top of the table, we think Pep's men will take them all the way in the next few months."

Liverpool, who missed the chance to move 10 points clear at the top of the table, will hope to bounce back immediately with their upcoming run of league fixtures.

After their FA Cup clash at Wolves they have favourable matches against Brighton, Crystal Palace, Leicester, West Ham and Bournemouth.

City take on Wolves, Huddersfield and Newcastle before hosting both Arsenal and Chelsea.

Meanwhile Tottenham are going about their business quietly and are six points adrift of Liverpool.
