Man City's squad depth will be terrifying next season after Erling Haaland transfer with amazing alternative XI

MANCHESTER CITY are set to possess even more incredible squad depth next season after announcing the signing of Erling Haaland.

The striker will arrive from Borussia Dortmund this summer for £51million after City triggered his release clause.

Pep Guardiola's side again failed to win the Champions League this season, squandering a late two-goal semi-final lead to Real Madrid.

But following the arrival of Haaland, City will be set for another crack at club football's biggest prize.

As pointed out by Bleacher Report, the reigning Premier League champions will have amazing options in most positions.

Haaland, 21, will slot straight in up top, backed up by fellow new boy Julian Alvarez and Gabriel Jesus – provided the Brazilian snubs Arsenal and stays.

The Norwegian international will then be supported on each flank by the likes of Phil Foden and Raheem Sterling.

Or if Guardiola fancies something different, he can bring in £100million man Jack Grealish, or £60m former PFA Player of the Year Riyad Mahrez.

City have Rodri, Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne to play in midfield, as well as young attacking starlet Cole Palmer.

Although with Fernandinho set to leave, Guardiola will likely want to bolster his midfield with another option.

Ruben Dias, Aymeric Laporte, John Stones and Nathan Ake offer ample protection to goalkeepers Ederson and Zack Steffen at centre-back.

While in Kyle Walker, Joao Cancelo and Oleksandr Zinchenko, City have some great full-backs.

They could perhaps do with another left-back, however, although Nathan Ake can play there if required.
