And Ten Hag has refused to confirm whether David De Gea will put pen to paper on a new contract at Old Trafford or not.

    Good morning United fans

Man Utd could be set for a move for Hakan Calhanoglu, according to reports.

Calciomercatoweb claims the Red Devils are tracking the Inter Milan playmaker, who could be surplus to requirements for the Serie A giants.

A fee of £35million has been mooted for the Turkish star, with any deal likely to happen in January.

Raphael Varane’s World Cup hopes rest in the balance, after he was subbed of on the hour mark in Man Utd’s draw against Chelsea.

The defender cut an emotional figure as he went off injured – fighting back tears as he left the pitch.

But, according to injury analyst Ben Dinnery, the injury might not be as bad as feared.

Dinnery tweeted: “Reports from France suggest the hamstring injury suffered by Raphael Varane was ‘less serious than feared’ after the United centre-back was forced off during Saturday’s game at Stamford Bridge.”

Man Utd will allow Cristiano Ronaldo to leave in the January transfer window, according to reports.

But first he will sit down for crunch talks with Erik ten Hag on Monday.

Ronaldo is under contract until the end of the season, but the Mirror report United are keen to get him off the books as soon as possible.

However, that relies on the Red Devils finding a club who want to stump up the money for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner – although Chelsea are reportedly considering a swoop.

SunSport revealed it would cost the Old Trafford side £10million to rip up his contract early due to his mammoth £360,000-a-week wages.

Ten Hag wants to see evidence of genuine remorse and an apology before allowing Ronaldo to rejoin first-team training.

The pair are set to sit down for a meeting to discuss the next steps.

Erik ten Hag has failed to confirm whether Manchester United will offer David de Gea a new contract.

His current deal is set to expire at the end of the season, leading to uncertainty surrounding his future.

And ten Hag is not being drawn on what their plans are for De Gea – who is on a huge £375,000-a-week.

The United boss said: “We didn’t make a decision on him but what I can say is that I am really happy with David de Gea as a keeper.

“His first two performances of the season were not his best performances but after you see he brings us a lot for the defensive department, gives stability.

“And, as a person, I like him, I can really cooperate with him really well but first we go to the winter and then we will talk about how deal with such situations.

“In this moment we only think about perfoming, we have a lot of games to go, so I don’t want to get that interfered by talks.

“We have to focus on football and performances, not on negotiating. That’s what we have to do now.”

    Maguire boost

Harry Maguire is ready for a Manchester United return to boost his England World Cup prospects.

United’s captain has been out for a month since injuring his hamstring during the Three Lions’ 3-3 Nations League draw with Germany.

But defender Maguire will be back in full training this week after missing the last seven games.

And his recovery could not come at a better time for boss Erik ten Hag after fellow defender Raphael Varane damaged a hamstring at Chelsea on Saturday.

England manager Gareth Southgate will be delighted to see Maguire, 29, in Qatar.

But Frenchman Varane was in tears and is likely to miss next month’s tournament.

    Morgan supports Ronaldo

Piers Morgan threw his support behind pal Cristiano Ronaldo amid his Manchester United crisis.

And he insists the Portuguese forward turned down £115million to play in Saudi Arabia.

One of the doubts has been whether they could find a buyer after he failed to secure a summer switch.

But Morgan tweeted: "More lies leaked by United management to damage him…

"@Cristiano received an offer of 130m euros to play for one season in Saudi but turned it down.

"Ten Hag trying to lecture @Cristiano on standards and values when he’s deliberately humiliating him… what a joke.

"One is the greatest footballer of all time and a champion in 4 countries… the other was a c**p player and as a manager, has barely won a conker fight outside of Holland."

    Romano reveals Utd’s Gabriel interest

Fabrizio Romano has revealed Man Utd were interested in signing Gabriel, before Arsenal bought him from Lille in 2020.

The Gunners paid £27million for the defender, who was said to be a target for Italian clubs in the summer, beating United to the punch says the transfer expert.

“I’m told two clubs approached Gabriel Magalhaes’ agents in July, and Juventus were one of them for sure,” he told CaughtOffside.

“Arsenal decided to keep him as key player for present and future.

“Napoli were pushing more than Man United for Gabriel in 2020, but Arsenal’s insistence made the difference.”

Man Utd rivalled for Benfica's Silva

PSG are reportedly interested in £90million Benfica defender and Manchester United target Antonio Silva.

Earlier this month, the Red Devils sent scouts to watch the 18-year-old Portuguese centre-back.

He has broken through into the team this season following injuries to first-choice pairing Lucas Verissimo and Joao Victor.

And he has impressed at the very top level, including in a pair of 1-1 draws with PSG in the Champions League.

According to Le10Sport, those displays have caught the attention of those in charge of the Ligue 1 giants.

They were originally interested in him during the summer, but are now preparing to return for the teenager once more, which would be a blow to United.

Van der Sar plays down Utd link

Ajax CEO Edwin Van der Sar has played down a link to Man Utd.

The former United goalie has been suggested as a potential target to join the Red Devils boardroom.

But, Van der Sar says he's still got unfinished business with the Eredivisie giants.

He said: "It's never been that close. I have a good relationship with the board and I had a fantastic six years in Manchester, but I'm not finished here yet."

    Dalot targeted by Real Madrid

Man Utd right-back Diogo Dalot is reportedly a target for Real Madrid.

The Mirror claim that Carlo Ancelotti is a fan of the defender and wants to bring him to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Dalot has become a key figure for Erik ten Hag, appearing in every game this season.

    Chelsea's Ronaldo offer

Chelsea could offer wantaway Man Utd striker Cristiano Ronaldo a route out of Old Trafford, according to reports.

Sunday World claim that the Blues are still considering making a move for the Portuguese superstar.

The West Londoners were linked with a move in the summer, but it was believed ex-manager Thomas Tuchel was not keen on signing him.

A fresh approach could happen in January, when the transfer window opens again.

Ronaldo 'polluting' Man Utd dressing room, says Petit

Emmanuel Petit has accused Cristiano Ronaldo of "polluting" the Manchester United dressing room with his ego.

Amid the ongoing rift between Ronaldo and United, Arsenal legend Petit has come out in support of Erik ten Hag after he banished Ronaldo to the reserves for his mutiny.

Speaking on the Rothen S’enflamme show in France, Petit slammed Ronaldo's behaviour and claimed the Portuguese star was no longer the same player.

He said: "He tires everyone: the supporters, his teammates… They don’t want him any more in the locker room, he pollutes everyone so much.

"He has an exceptional career, when he stops we will all be unanimous in saying it, but his behaviour is so individualistic. His message yesterday on social media.

"You know you don’t like what’s going on with your club, you can’t stand your coach Ten Hag any more, you feel like you are disrespected for what you have done, but your status no longer exists!

"You are no longer the same player, you have been demoted, you have suffered a downgrade, but you do not accept it because your ego is so oversized. Say it real! It can’t be defensible."

Pellistri named to initial Uruguay World Cup squad

Manchester United youngster Facundo Pellistri has been called up by Uruguay for the 2022 World Cup, even though he hasn't played at all this season.

Pellistri, 20, has been established as one of United's most promising young stars ever since his arrival in 2020 following an £7.2m deal with Penarol.

The winger, though, has never managed to play for the senior team and has mainly been featuring for the Under-21s, where he has registered three goals and one assist in nine appearances.

That, however, hasn't stopped Uruguay manager Diego Alonso from calling the forward up for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.

Pellistri made Alonso's early list, though, which means he can still miss out on the final cut.

Chelsea look to pinch Ronaldo in January

Sunday World report that Chelsea are also looking to pounce on the opportunity and join the race for the unsettled veteran.

As revealed by SunSport in the summer, Blues owner Boehly is a huge fan of Ronaldo.

At the time, boss Thomas Tuchel still needed convincing to press ahead with a move but now Graeme Potter is in charge at Stamford Bridge.

A £14m bid was being touted back then however Old Trafford bosses may take whatever they can to ship him off.

Could United salvage anything for Ron?

Old Trafford’s money men insisted Ronaldo, who wanted Champions League football, would only be allowed to go on their terms…and that meant a fee of up to £20m.

Now, though, they have the option of his leaving for nothing, if a vastly reduced severance package was also part of the deal.

It would almost certainly be the case if Ronaldo, who will be 38 in February, decided on America as his next destination.

David Beckham’s Inter Miami are keen on signing him, but although they are confident of meeting his personal terms, a transfer fee on top would make it difficult.

Yet with Ronaldo clearly having reached the end of the road at Old Trafford, there is growing belief a deal can be done after all.

United could fork out £10m to ditch Ron if no one wants to sign him

Man Utd could have to fork out almost £10 million if they want to get Cristiano Ronaldo off the books in January.

Ronaldo was axed for yesterday's trip to Chelsea, amid claims he refused to come off the bench in last week’s win over Spurs and looks sure to have played his last game for the club.

Yet if United hope to get rid before his contract expires at the end of the season, they are staring at a pay-off touching eight figures.

Ronaldo would earn around £9.6m in basic wages until June, regardless of any bonus payments for league placings or trophies.

But United do have some wriggle room – not least the option of tearing up his deal if he did indeed refuse to come on as a substitute and was deemed to be in breach of contract.

There is also the bargaining chip of letting him join another club for a knockdown fee or even a free – something they stood firm on last summer.

      Who is Kai Rooney?

Older son Kai recently signed a deal to be a model for sportswear brand Puma.

He netted an impressive 56 times for the under-12s last season where he is team-mates with Cristiano Ronaldo’s son Cristiano Jr.

Speaking about Kai joining United, dad Rooney said: "He did have other options, other clubs to go to.

"But he decided he wants to sign for Manchester United, so it was his decision and not mine."

Rooney is United’s all-time top scorer with 253 goals in 559 appearances.

      Rooney returns to HQ

Wayne Rooney set tongues wagging when he turned up at Manchester United’s training HQ in a club tracksuit.

But the real reason for the Old Trafford legend’s flying visit was to watch his lads Kai, 12, and Klay, 9, training with United’s academy.

DC United boss Roo was back in the UK following the end of his club’s MLS season.

The former England international's American outfit finished bottom of the Eastern Conference with just seven wins from 34 matches – although Rooney did not take over until July.

But he is now enjoying the off-season as he watched his boys follow in his footsteps.

      More on Diogo interest

Real Madrid could try to take advantage of Dalot's contract situation, with the defender's deal expiring in the summer.

However, United reportedly have an option to trigger a one-year contract extension and that could help to deter interest.

The Red Devils are also believed to be unwilling to sell Dalot for less than £35m.

That figure could rise if Dalot impresses at the World Cup, with Barcelona and AC Milan also said to be keen on the former Porto player.

Barca have also kept tabs on Dalot with Xavi keen to bolster his defence.

Dalot is open to staying at Old Trafford for another year but is also keen on a move to Catalonia.

      Real want Da-lot

Real Madrid are eyeing a transfer for Manchester United star Diogo Dalot, according to reports.

The Portuguese has impressed under Erik ten Hag this season and has kept Aaron Wan-Bissaka out of the side.

Real have sent scouts to watch the right-back in action and are reportedly encouraged by the feedback they have got back, with Dalot impressing on a personal and professional level.

The LaLiga champions are believed to have been rejected in their approach to sign Manchester City star Joao Cancelo so have now turned to Dalot, report The Mirror.

      Ratings: Subs make some impact

      FRED (FOR SANCHO, 52) – 6/10

Attempted a woeful shot/cross which his team-mates were left furious about as United looked to pour forward.

      VICTOR LINDELOF (FOR VARANE, 60) – 6

Managed to hold the defence together as he came on to end the Martinez-Varane partnership.

      SCOTT McTOMINAY (FOR ERIKSEN, 80) – 1

Only contribution was to stupidly give away the penalty.

      ANTHONY ELANGA (FOR RASHFORD, 81) – N/A

Had little impact before the final whistle.

Unused subs: Heaton, Malacia, Pellistri, Garnacho, Iqbal.

      Ratings: Rashford foiled by Kepa

      MARCUS RASHFORD – 5/10

Quiet but came to life when he tried to dink Kepa, only for the Chelsea keeper to smother him well.

Forced another save before the break with a powerful effort which Kepa beat clear relatively comfortably.

Could have been the match-winner, but missed chances and a lack of impact on the rest of the game meant he had a distinctly average night.

Came off for Elanga in the closing stages.
