5.35 KING GEORGE V HANDICAP

  • Look for horses with two, three or four runs this season
  • Being placed last time out is a big plus
  • A win this season is a positive
  • Carrying more than 8st 13lb is tough
  • Horses with a win over 1m2f or more do well

WE can start by knocking out horses who were out of the first three last time — Antilles, Persian Moon, Kuwait Currency, Almania, Kaloor, Severance and Majestic Dawn.

Constantinople and Leroy Leroy have the big weight to overcome and join the crossed out list.

It has been tricky to win this from a single-figure stall in the past decade so Fox Premier, Good Birthday, Summer Loon, Questionare, South Pacific and Babbo’s Boy.

That has reduced the hopefuls down to just four — Sinjaari, Sir Ron Priestley, Great Example and Eminence. They have all won at 1m2f or further and have the right sort of profile for this race.

Narrowing the shortlist further, SIR RON PRIESTLEY won at Haydock last time and that has been a good pointer to this and he comes from Mark Johnston, who has an excellent record in this race.
