Sergio Gomez spotted at Manchester hotel as Spanish ace looks to seal £11m transfer to Man City from Anderlecht | The Sun

SERGIO GOMEZ has jetted into the country to complete an £11million transfer to Manchester City.

The Anderlecht ace was spotted at a hotel in Manchester ahead of the transfer which SunSport revealed yesterday.


The youngster was ushered into the building surrounded by his entourage.

Pep Guardiola has splashed out on the 21-year-old to fill the void left by Oleksandr Zinchenko who left for Arsenal this summer.

Zinchenko joined the Gunners after being persuaded by fellow former City ace Gabriel Jesus to make the switch.

Both stars opted for The Emirates in a bid to secure regular first-team football.

And now Gomez will slot into the void left by the Ukrainian ace at the back.

It remains to be seen whether City boss Guardiola will rely on Gomez or bring in a more experienced star.

Pep will assess Gomez's abilities on the training pitch before deciding to loan him out to to LaLiga outfit Girona.

But the youngster shone for Anderlecht last season where he notched 15 assists in 49 games.

His assists will come in handy for City who will miss Raheem Sterling's contributions on the wing this term.

Sterling decided to leave City to join Chelsea in the pursuit of first-team football.

The attacker needs to be playing regularly to have any chance of getting into the England squad for the upcoming World Cup.
