Transfer news LIVE: Spurs would rather Kane Join Bayern than Man Utd, Anthony Gordon 'tells Everton he is not returning' | The Sun

TOTTENHAM are reluctant to sell Harry Kane this summer, but would reportedly rather he joined Bayern Munich than Manchester United.

Spurs want to avoid selling Kane to a direct rival, and if they can help it, they will try to offload him to Bayern, who are said to be interested in his signature.

Elsewhere, Anthony Gordon has told reportedly Everton he has no intention of returning to the club as he tries to force a transfer away.

The winger is wanted by Newcastle, who are in talks with the Toffees over a potential deal.

    Bournemouth close to Semenyo deal

Bournemouth are closing in on the signing of Bristol City frontman Antoine Semenyo, according to the Daily Mail.

The Ghana international headed to the South Coast for a medical last night after the Cherries saw a £9m bid accepted.

He's scored seven goals in all comps this season, including three in his last three, while he was directly involved in 20 goals in 31 Championship appearances last term.

They're also hoping to seal a deal for Villarreal winger Nicolas Jackson before Tuesday's transfer deadline.

No Enz in sight… so Onana and Moises may move

Chelsea's hopes of signing Enzo Fernandez are fading – as Amadou Onana and Moises Caicedo top the transfer gossip.

Benfica believe they'll hold onto Argentinian World Cup hero Fernandez until at least the summer.

So Everton powerhouse Onana and Brighton star Caicedo now appear to be the biggest midfield targets this month.

Onana has reportedly rejected Chelsea, leaving Arsenal seemingly best placed to land the Belgian – if they offer around £50million.

Newcastle are also said to be sniffing around the 21-year-old.

But it's the two London giants who are also expected to consider bidding for Ecuador ace Caicedo.

A new stumbling block, however, is the suggestion the Seagulls want £75m.

Meanwhile, Tottenham might be more willing to sell striker Harry Kane to Bayern Munich to Prem suitors like Manchester United.

It's even claimed Spurs still want around £100m for the England skipper, who will be 30 in July and is under contract until the end of next season.

Finally, Denzel Dumfries’ agent reportedly flew in for talks with Prem clubs.

The Red Devils, Chelsea and Newcastle have been linked to Inter Milan’s Holland right-back.

Kane ‘expecting February talks on his future

England skipper Harry Kane is tipped to hold February talks with Tottenham over his future.

And it’s claimed a summer move – possibly to Manchester United – is now a serious possibility.

Transfer insider Dean Jones told Givemesport he believes what happens to Kane is linked to whether Spurs boss Antonio Conte stays.

Jones added: “Kane is expecting to speak to Tottenham, initially, in February, about what the plans are, what kind of offer would be on the table and what he could expect.

“And then he’ll go away and think about that. So over the course of the next three, four months, you’re not only deciding who the manager is, but also what’s going to be happening with your star player.”

    Gunners 'in contact' over Onana

Arsenal are in talks over signing Amadou Onana after he rebuffed Chelsea.

That's the claim tonight as both London giants seek another midfielder before the transfer deadline passes on Tuesday.

Earlier today it was suggested the Belgian would not be averse to seeing out the season at lowly Everton.

But it's understood the Toffees might do business if they get an offer way above the £35m fee they paid Lille in the summer.

Graeme Bailey told the Talking Transfers podcast (via TBR): “He’ll carry a price tag of £50m. Newcastle and Arsenal have both been in touch.”

    Leeds haggling over Weston fee

Leeds are haggling with Juventus over a fee to sign USA midfielder Weston McKennie.

Whites boss Jesse Marsch wants to land his countryman — but Leeds’ offer of £20million plus add-ons is short of Juve’s £30m valuation.

The 24-year-old is understood to have given the green light to a move, which would see him link up with his US team-mates Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson.

Leeds are optimistic they can strike a deal for World Cup star McKennie, who has also caught the eye of Arsenal and Aston Villa.

The midfielder joined Juventus on loan from Schalke in 2020 until his move became permanent a year later.

McKennie has since amassed a total of 13 goals and five assists in 96 appearances across all competitions.

'Absolute unit' Onana rated the answer

This United fan reckons a single one in-one out move could transform the Red Devils.

    Just two problems.

To "sell Scott McTominay for £50m" sounds a tall order.

And not only might his suggested replacement, Everton's Amadou Onana, cost as much – he has also been linked to Arsenal and Chelsea.

Kane more likely to join Bayern than Utd?

Tottenham could be more willing to sell Harry Kane to Bayern Munich than Manchester United.

It's claimed Spurs might reduce their demands for an overseas club – and that in any case United might baulk at a seven-figure sum.

BILD TV reporter Valentina Maceri suggested to Sky Sports that Tottenhamwould be keen for the England skipper not to join a Prem rival like United, Man City or Chelsea.

And it's thought that's a main reason why there's more talk right now of Bayern moving again for the striker at the end of the season – after reportedly being quoted £140million last summer.

Vlahovic set to stay at Juve

Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic is OFF Manchester United’s January agenda.

That’s according to The Express, despite suggestions the Red Devils might try to add another attacker in the next five days.

It’s claimed United boss Erik ten Hag must be cautious with his spending this month.

The Dutchman has only added two signings, both on loan – Crystal Palace keeper Jack Butland and Burnley forward Wout Weghorst.

    Partey fine without Rice

Ray Parlour believes Declan Rice would not get into Arsenal’s team ahead of Thomas Partey.

But he does believe the West Ham man could be useful for depth given all the competitions the Gunners may compete in.

The former Arsenal player told NetBet Sports Betting: “Yeah absolutely he’s a top player but Partey has been brilliant in the midfield I mean, look, if you get Declan Rice does he play in front of Partey at the moment?

“But you need big players in your team throughout the season. If you’re going for the Champions League and you playing in the league, FA Cup, there are so many games, so you need to rotate your squad at times, but Partey has been very important for Arsenal.”

Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle are thought to be keen on Inter Milan’s Holland right-back.

The ex-PSV star, 26, has lost his place in the Inter side to 33-year-old Italy and ex-United player Matteo Darmian

And twerking queen Claudia revealed she’s been overwhelmed by well-wishers.

    Wigan axe ex-Arsenal ace Kolo

Kolo Toure has been sacked by Wigan – after failing to win any of his NINE games in charge.

The ex-Arsenal defender left his role as a coach at Leicester in November 2022 to take his first managerial job.

But a torrid run of results means the Latics have axed the Ivorian already, with the club bottom of the Championship.

Assistants Kevin Betsy and Ashvir Johal have also departed.

Wigan's CEO Malachy Brannigan said: “Firstly, I’d like to thank Kolo, along with Kevin and Ash, for their efforts during their time at the football club.

“Unfortunately, the results on the field have not been as we would have liked and as tough a decision as this was, the board felt it necessary to give us the best possible chance of remaining a Championship club next season.

“We know that this time of year is a key period for any football club, ourselves included.

"Therefore, we will now work swiftly and effectively to ensure the right person is appointed as the next permanent manager of Wigan Athletic, with the immediate objective of remaining in the second tier for next season.”

4 more Utd starlets could follow Savage out

Manchester United are open to letting four more players leave before Tuesday's transfer deadline day – plus Charlie Savage.

As exclusively revealed by SunSport, Robbie Savage's son will join Forest Green Rovers on loan for the remainder of the season.

But according to the Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils are keen for another quartet of their rising stars to go out on loan to gain first-team action.

Charlie McNeill has caught the eye of a number of League One and League Two sides and will join a club that can guarantee him regular minutes.

The 19-year-old striker went on a work experience loan to Sheffield Wednesday last season which permitted him to train but not play official matches.

Defenders Di'Shon Bernard and Bjorn Hardley are in a similar position to McNeill and are keen to get some action to continue their development.

United will only allow the duo loan moves if minutes are secured – but could even sell them if the right offer came in.

Lastly, Zidane Iqbal is another exciting talent gaining plenty of attention.

'FIFA fans eye Pickford, real ones hope De Gea stays'

Paul Parker believes "real" Manchester United fans want David Gea to stay – whereas FIFA players hope Jordan Pickford signs.

Former Red Devils defender Spanish keeper De Gea, 32, has faced unfair criticism in recent years.

And the ex-England star told Apostagolos: “He is not the best with his feet but his job is to save the shots that he faces.

"Otherwise, you could just bring Jordan Pickford to the club who has amazing kicking stats in FIFA, but he would never be able to do a good job at Man United.”

“The real Man United fans would like to see David de Gea renewing his contract but the FIFA fans might want Jordan Pickford at Man United, which is disrespectful.”

Parker added: “David De Gea has been criticised too much the last two or three seasons.

"He has done incredibly well for Man United and he should be respected a lot more than he does.

He deserves a new contract. He has earned the right to stay at Man United but I still hope that the club will bring a goalkeeper to compete with him. Every player needs competition.”

    Utd 'delighted' by Wout progress

Manchester United are delighted by Wout Weghorst's loan form – boosting his hopes of a permanent move.

The Burnley striker has been regarded as a stop-gap signing until a big-name permanent arrival in the summer.

But his decent form included a poacher's goal in last night's 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

Weghorst himself admitted he'd be interested in staying.

And Sky Sports News chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol said: "United are delighted with what he is doing both on and off the pitch and I'm told he is a model professional.

"Even though they are looking to sign a No 9 in the summer, he may well be kept on in any case."

And the Guardian report former Tottenham superstar Marcus Edwards has become a part of discussions.

The ex-Spurs youth player reportedly has a clause in his contract giving the London club 40 per cent of any fee that Sporting make for him.

It is believed that Spurs have offered to reduce that percentage in exchange for a cheaper fee for Porro.

    Saints confirm Bree deal

Luton right-back James Bree has joined Southampton on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

The ex-Aston Villa man, 25, is the Prem bottom side's third January signing.

Boss Nathan jones earlier brought in Mislav Orsic and Carlos Alcaraz.

Jones said: “James is obviously someone who I know well from our time together at Luton, and he has the qualities both on the pitch and also in terms of his character to help us here.

“While we have really talented players in the full-back positions, we have been lighter on numbers than we would have liked, so the addition of James to the squad really helps us to address that.

"He’s also comfortable playing at centre-back too, so that versatility helps gives us another good option in a number of areas.”
