Willian desperate to stay at Chelsea… but it depends whether Antonio Conte is sacked

INSTAGRAM rebel Willian is desperate to stay at Chelsea – but his future depends on whether the club sacks manager Antonio Conte.

The normally mild-mannered Brazilian went public on their rift by plastering over Conte’s image in a picture of the squad celebrating Saturday’s FA Cup win over Manchester United.

Willian is frustrated at his lack of action in the first team in recent weeks but also at his deteriorating relationship with head coach Conte.

He is now watching developments along with several other key players with regard to Conte’s own future with the Italian braced for the sack.

Feisty Conte has had a run in with Willian’s fellow Brazilian David Luiz and big names like Eden Hazard and keeper Thibaut Courtois are using delaying tactics over signing new contracts to see whether there is a change of manager this summer.

A Chelsea insider said: “Willian loves Chelsea. The club means so much to him.

“It’s not even that he loves life in London. It’s Chelsea.

“He was on his way to Tottenham and did a U-turn to sign for Chelsea after all.”
