'90 Day Fiancé': Omar and Avery Reveal Where They Live Now, Address 'Misconceptions' in New Q&A

Omar Albakour, 27, and Avery Mills, 21, melted many 90 Day Fiancé fans’ hearts when they starred on the third season of TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days – later making appearances on 90 Day Fiancé: What Now? and 90 Day Fiancé: Self-Quarantined.

As a young adult in Columbus, Ohio, Avery made the decision to become a Muslim. After converting to Islam, she met Omar, a dentist from Syria, on a Muslim dating site. The young couple overcame many obstacles to be together, from K-1 visa delays and denials to Avery’s mom’s fears about her daughter’s safety and commitment to her new religion.

So, where do Omar and Avery live now? Are Avery and Omar still married? Is Avery still Muslim? The couple answered these questions and more in a new YouTube Q&A for 90 Day Fiancé fans.

Omar and Avery live in Dubai

After many hiccups on the way to being together in the same country, Omar and Avery live in Dubai, UAE (United Arab Emigrates). In a new YouTube video on Feb. 3, the 90 Day Fiancé stars revealed that they had now been married almost two years – and the newlyweds finally settled in the same city for good.

Omar also clarified that Dubai was a city, not a rural area – since the young couple has heard a lot of misconceptions from fans.

“This is just to clear up the misconceptions,” Avery explained. “We’ve heard this a lot, at least from Americans…Dubai is a big city in a big country.”

As for their choice to settle permanently in Dubai, Avery and Omar said they wouldn’t ever want to go back to the U.S. Avery thought Dubai was safer than anywhere in her home country, and she didn’t go through a lot of “culture shock” moving there.

In addition to finding their permanent home, Omar and Avery have been working steadily on their goals. Omar is studying periodontics at the graduate level and hopes to open his own dental office in the future. Meanwhile, Avery is studying healthcare administration in college, so she plans to manage their office one day.

Avery met Omar’s family before she met him

90 Day Fiancé fans also wanted to know whether Omar’s family approved of his wife.

“My family loves her and considers her one of the family members,” Omar gushed.

In fact, Avery revealed, she met Omar’s siblings before she ever met him in person. About a month after they met on the dating app, he asked her to meet up with his sister and brother, who live in New Jersey.

So she hopped on a flight, spent a week with them – and the rest was history. In fact, Avery and Omar’s siblings loved each other so much that they bought her a different flight home after just two days of knowing each other.

“They were some of the best people I’ve ever met,” Avery raved.

After Avery spent time with Omar’s siblings, they hastily texted him to give their approval. “They said she was so nice, respectful, and loving,” Omar said.

Avery is still a devout Muslim

Some 90 Day Fiancé fans were curious about Avery’s conversion to Islam. She called it a “pretty easy experience” that started because she had so many Muslim friends growing up.

“It started off with me asking them questions, like, ‘Why do you wear a headscarf? Why do you guys pray? Why can’t you eat pork?’” Avery shared. “The more that I learned about Islam, the more that it resonated with my heart.”

Avery and Omar also cleared up some misconceptions fans might have had from watching the show. On TLC, it seemed that Avery’s family wasn’t a fan of her choice in a husband or religion. But Avery said her family, including her mom, actually fully supported her and saw Omar as one of their own.

“The most important thing is, they see that I’m happy and I’m living a really good life,” Avery said of her family’s approval. Her mom even told her she was the “better version of herself” as a Muslim revert.

As for appearing on 90 Day Fiancé one day in the future, Omar and Avery gave that possibility a resounding no. Reality TV was just not their thing.

“Never again,” Omar asserted.

“It’s just not for us,” Avery added. “That’s all we have to say.”
