A Place in the Sun’s Jasmine Harman horrified when guest hates swimming pool

A Place in the Sun presenter Jasmine Harman was visibly shocked when a guest insulted a property before taking a single step inside.

In Thursday's episode of the Channel 4 show (April 29) she was helping Carol find a holiday home for her and her husband on Lanzarote's east coast.

Carol wanted a villa or apartment with a swimming pool and beautiful views in bustling towns like Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen within a budget of £150,000.

First up was a £152,991 two-bedroom bungalow in the centre of Puerto del Carmen, boasting a communal swimming pool and a small private terrace.

Looking excited, Jasmine showed Carol and her daughter-in-law Donna the swimming pool which was a very generous size and sparkling clean.

"So we’re starting off by this lovely swimming pool," she said.

"It’s ok for size," said a reluctant-sounding Carol.

"Ok? Is it only ok?" said Jasmine, seeming completely shocked by Carol’s lack of enthusiasm.

"Yeah, but it's good for size," Carol admitted.

The grandma then explained her concerns with the pool and said she was not sure about its bendy shape and, in fairness, it would be impossible to swim in lanes because of the weird layout.

Carol was then even more savage when Jasmine asked her what she thought about the curb appeal of the bungalow.

"It looks like a garage," she said bluntly.

Carol did agree to have a look around but decided it was far too small to be of use for herself, her husband, and their grown-up children and grandchildren.

Jasmine said: "I'm disappointed that this bungalow didn't do the job for Carol, particularly in terms of size because I think for someone else it is a beautifully finished property and it's in a great location – not to mention that lovely pool!"

Carol and her daughter-in-law were shown around a further four properties but couldn't agree on any of them.

At the end of the show, Carol told Jasmine she wouldn't be making an offer on any of them and would continue to look by herself.

Jasmine frankly told her she would have a hard job finding anything better on her modest budget.

"You're not going to find anything better than those, really and truly," she said.
