Strictly Come Dancing returned on Saturday night with the celebrity contestants taking to the dance floor once again. However, new judge Anton Du Beke was critical of one couple after they had several slip-ups in their routine. After watching Neil Jones and Nina Wadia perform, Anton admitted their dance made him feel “uncomfortable”.

After watching the couple perform on the iconic Strictly ballroom, Anton shared his thoughts on their routine.

He first praised Nina for her chemistry with Neil: “Well if we were in any doubt how you felt about Neil before this, I think… let me tell you you’re in big trouble that’s all I’m gonna say.”

However, Anton went on to highlight the mistakes she made during the dance.

He said: “I liked the performance. You made a couple of mistakes and whenever somebody makes a mistake it makes me go a bit twitchy because I’ve lived through those over the years and it’s slightly uncomfortable.

“Your body position as a whole is quite good. Really takes hold, I feel really comfortable watching it. It looks nice.

“But, your head needs a bit of work because it’s a bit straight. So, what I want you to do is keep your head on the same line as your spine,” the judge added.

Giving the former EastEnders actress more advice on her posture, Anton said: “Make a nice line through your spine and lean the head as a continuation of that line.

“What happens is you do that and then you pop the head straight, you get this funny lock at the top.

“Then it plays havoc with your shoulder line,” he explained.

However, he noted if Nina takes his advice on board for her future ballroom dances she’ll look “absolutely fabulous”.

Several BBC viewers agreed with Anton’s comments, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts.

“Thought Nina’s posture was off like she needed to stand up straight and needed more ‘flower in a vase’ pose #strictlyspoiler #Scd #strictly,” @coxyhockeychick said.

Meanwhile some fans placed more blame on Strictly pro Neil’s choreography.

@caroc54 wrote: “Nina was ill served by Neil this week. He should have concentrated on ballroom tango and not do a fusion of that with Argentine. Disappointed for her #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing.”

Saturday night is the last chance for the celebrities to prove themselves before the first public vote on Sunday evening.

As a result, fans of the hit BBC dance competition have been speculating over which celebrity will be the first to leave the show.

According to bookmakers Betfair, things aren’t looking good for rugby star Ugo Monye as he’s currently favourite to be the first celeb voted off with odds of 9/4.

Ugo is just ahead of Dragons’ Den star Sara Davies on odds of being voted out of the competition this weekend.

Meanwhile, EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis maintains her position as the favourite to win the series, closely followed by CBBC presenter Rhys Stephenson and Bake Off star John Whaite.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Sunday at 7:05pm on BBC One.
