Axed Love Islander recalls condom wrapper discovery in villa bedroom
Axed Love Island star Martin Akinola has made a shocking revelation about his time in the show's South Africa villa – revealing a discovery in the bedroom which left him stunned.
Martin was dumped from the island in a brutal recoupling as Tanya Manhenga reunited with Shaq Muhammed, despite having brought Martin back to the main villa following Casa Amor.
The 27-year-old has now said that he was “humiliated on national TV” when Tanya reunited with her former flame.
Opening up further about his time in the villa, Martin has now revealed that his embarrassment didn't begin and end with Tanya deciding to go back to Shaq.
Recalling a moment that left him shocked, Martin has revealed that he discovered three torn condom wrappers in the bed side drawers he shared with Tanya on their return to the main villa.
Joining Tanya in the bed she had previously shared with Shaq, Martin said that he made the discovery while looking for somewhere to put his shoes.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the TV star said: "I didn't cry… I'm a strong guy and I don't let anything rattle me, but do you know what… when we went back to the main villa, they put me and Tanya in the same bed she shared with Shaq from day one. I was like, 'this is savage… why would you do this?'
“There was a time I opened one of the drawers underneath the bed and I found three torn condom wrappers… I was looking for a space to put my shoes and I saw that!”
In the same interview, the Casa Amor bombshell hit out at his female co-stars as he accuses them of having double standards.
And during his exit interview, Martin took a swipe at his former flame, arguing that Tanya may not actually love Shaq as she claims to.
He said: "Genuinely, I think Shaq might be in love with her. But I don’t think she’s in love with him. She followed her heart – which was fair enough – but she went about it the wrong way."
Martin also insisted that there’s no hard feelings between then, but that he’s backing other couples to win the show.
He said: “I told her good luck and I wish her and Shaq well. When I left the villa as well I said good luck as I saw she felt so bad. She did what she had to do, she just went about it the wrong way really.”
