BBC Breakfasts Naga Munchetty hits back after trolls brutal comment

Naga Munchetty wasn't afraid to hit back at an internet troll who branded her a "bit of a w****r" – and fans loved her for it.

The BBC Breakfast presenter received a mean comment from a disgruntled viewer shortly Friday's broadcast (July 8).

Naga, 47, normally anchors the flagship morning show from Thursday to Saturday with her co-host Charlie Stayt.

However, it's clear one viewer wasn't feeling the Friday mood, so they took to Twitter and left a brutal comment for Naga.

They wrote: "Only me who thinks Naga Munchetty is a bit of a w****r?"

What they might not have been expecting is for Naga herself to see the comment and write a hilariously candid reply which bravely acknowledged her haters.

Naga simply replied: "Doubt it."

It wasn't long before the broadcaster was flooded with praise from fans who appreciated her witty comeback.

One fan wrote: "The amount of men who have an issue with you is bloody crazy? You obviously intimidate them with your wisdom, wit and great golf handicap!"

A second said: "Really like you @TVNaga01. Clearly doesn’t suffer fools gladly, does the political stories with gravitas and the naff stories with good grace and a cat lover into the bargain!"

Another chimed in: "With excellent shoes!"

A third commented: "TV would be better with more Naga's – yes opinionated – yes not always everyone's favourite – but smart, funny and has a personality and lets that shine through. I'll take more Naga-style presenters every day of the week thanks."

Naga regularly interacts with her viewers on social media, including when they point out her TV blunders.

One viewer realised she'd announced the wrong time on Breakfast where she confused the morning for the afternoon.

She told viewers: "The time is 12.20, good morning."

But when the viewer claimed they'd exposed her 'worst blunder yet', Naga didn't hesitate in admitting: "No – there has been worse. Thanks for listening. @bbc5live x
