Bonnie Tyler breaks silence after being slammed for miming on This Morning
Bonnie Tyler's appearance on This Morning fell flat with viewers on Wednesday after the singing sensation was accusing of miming behind the microphone.
In the ITV studio with presenters Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle to discuss her new memoir, and the 40-year anniversary of classic track 'Total Eclipse of the Heart', the power ballad queen rounded off her interview with a live performance.
However, the columns of Twitter were soon stuffed with accusations of lip-syncing, as one This Morning fan wrote: "And here's Bonnie Tyler singing live!! Errm no she f***ing isn't!!!"
"Wow what a let down with lip sync Bonnie Tyler" and "Bonnie Tyler can sing, unfortunately she can't mime," read two more tweets.
Following the backlash, the 71 year old's representatives issued a statement to The Mirror to shed some context on Bonnie's decision to mime.
"Bonnie is incredibly disappointed that she had to lip sync on ITV's This Morning," it began. "However, she woke up with a terribly bad sore throat, which was obvious from her speaking voice during the interview, and at rehearsals it was clear she couldn't sing today.
"So rather than let TV and her fans down at the last moment she decided to mime instead. In fact, I have just spoken to her on the phone and it's got a lot worse, she can hardly speak at all now.
"Everyone should be assured that Bonnie's voice is still very strong when she doesn't have a cold, as anyone coming to any of her live shows this year will be able to hear for themselves.
"She is very sorry if anyone felt let down by her having to mime, she actually hates miming and never usually does it, and is looking forward to her voice being back to its normal strength very soon," the statement concluded.
In other news, back in February, 38 year old star Josie revealed that she "lost 3 hours" at co-star Alison Hammond's boozy birthday party.
She told the Loose Women: "It was the best party ever, if Great Gatsby did parties, it would be Alison Hammond. She can put on a party.
"She had all this rum punch but it just tasted of juice. I'd get a tequila from the bar and then a rum punch because I thought it didn't have much alcohol in it. Next thing you know I was blowing raspberries on everyone on their bellies.
"I woke up in the morning and thought ahhhhh! The videos are atrocious!"
