Coronation Street fans work out Stephens next victim after Leo death

Stephen Reid is on the edge in Coronation Street after murdering Leo – and now fans think they have 'worked out' who his next victim might be.

Viewers of the ITV soap know that Stephen has returned to steal mum Audrey Robert's money, despite making out that he has returned out of concern for her welfare.

Fellow residents have since started to grow suspicious of Stephen, including Leo, who overhead Stephen and his wife Gabrielle talking about debts that he owed her – and later discovered plans to have Audrey's house valued to pay his wife back.

When Stephen kissed Leo's fiance Jenny, the two came to blows on the cobbles, and Leo threatened to tell Audrey – only for Stephen to push Leo to his death.

As Stephen desperately tries to cover his tracks, fans think that Leo's dad Teddy could be next, after Teddy came to the Rovers Return looking for his son.

Stephen tried to convince Teddy not to call the police, but if he begins digging, will he discover that Stephen is the murderer? And will Stephen try to silence Teddy before then?

Fans certainly seem to think so, with one saying: "Don’t let Leo’s dad near Stephen or bins."

Another agreed, saying: "Is Leo’s dad the next victim of rubbish villain Stephen?" while a third added: "I think he is next on the list."

A fourth added: "Maybe teddy could be Stephen's next victim I still think it's his wife."

"I think Stephen kills Teddy next," another echoed.

However, could he be stopped in his tracks if mum Audrey discovers the truth about his villainous plan?

Although fans have not picked up on this yet, one interesting theory originally published on The Daily Express seems to suggest that Audrey could discover the truth behind Stephen's motives – and kill him.

They suggested: "Perhaps she will confront him to ask what his true intentions are.

"However, Stephen might not handle the situation well and could lash out at Audrey in a violent rage."

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV at 8pm
