Next week's Coronation Street sees Todd Grimshaw rushed to hospital after he is the victim of a hit-and-run on the cobbles.

Earlier in the week, over at David Platt's, Shona Ramsey arrives home in her dressing gown and admits that she went out to move his car but in the process she hit something.

Shona senses she ran into something and when they go back to the scene and find it clear, they shrug it off.

However, elsewhere on the cobbles, Eileen Grimshaw tells Billy Mayhew his ex Todd is in hospital after being the victim of a hit-and-run and the police are out to get the culprit.

If anyone can worm their way out of trouble in Weatherfield, David can, but when his car is discovered some distance away with a big dent in it and the paint is found to match the chips on Todd’s clothes, he knows he’s in deep trouble.

Craig Tinker arrests him, but he is later released. Has he managed to protect Shona?

There are more cover-ups over at Tyrone Dobbs' as he weighs up the pros and cons of telling girlfriend Alina Pop that his daughter Hope Stape was the person who started the flat fire.

Coronation Street fans were left horrified after Hope appeared to set fire to Tyrone and pregnant Alina's flat while the latter was still in it and she was consequently rushed to hospital.

For a man who wants a simple life, Tyrone spends a lot of time feeling torn and blood is clearly thicker than a new squeeze as he lies to protect Hope.

Tyrone tells Evelyn Plummer that Fiz Stape and Hope have gone to stay with her mother Cilla and he then gives Alina the flat keys, making out that he found them in a jacket pocket — despite Hope stealing them.

The ruse works on Alina, who starts delving into her past in a bid to find the arsonist, but Evelyn knows Tyrone is hiding something and doesn’t let up until he breaks down and confesses all. Will Evelyn keep quiet?
