Coronation Street spoilers: David terrified as son Max faces bleeding to death

MAX Turner's life hangs in balance again after he escaped a bleak fate at the foot of Daniel Osbourne's stairs.

In an attempt to escape the truth, the teenager gets badly hurt next week in Coronation Street and his father David Platt is devastated.

As he grows up, Max (played by Paddy Bever), is becoming a reputed troublemaker in Weatherfield.

After accusing teacher Daniel Osbourne of having an inappropriate relationship with Summer Spellman, the youngster was revealed to have spiked Amy Barlow's drink during the Valentine's Day dance.

Coming up, Max feels the weight of the world on his shoulders after another one of his misdeeds comes to light and he's pressured to come clean to Amy.

Feeling guilty in scenes due on our screens next week, he has a huge row with his adoptive father David (Jack P. Shepherd) who confiscates his phone.

When Max asserts he hates him, David retaliates by saying Max's mother Kylie (who was murdered in 2016) would be ashamed of him.

Max is distraught and plans to run away from home, smashing the glass on the barber's door.

He climbs in, hoping to retrieve his phone… but as he climbs out of the barber's, Max lacerates his leg on the broken glass in the door and the cut is too deep for him to be able to take it.

Max collapses on the street, bleeding out, six years after his mother bled to death on the same cobbles.

Prior to this, Max refuses to come clean to Amy despite Daniel's warning that he will speak to her for him if he decided to stay silent.

A defiant Max assures David and his wife Shona that Daniel is bluffing.

But when Amy misreads one lad’s admiring glances, in later scenes, she throws a cup of coffee over him and has a meltdown, believing he could have been the one to spike her drink, clearly traumatised by her experience.

Could Max's injury act as a wake-up call for him to clean up his act?
