The bubbly character will suffer a medical emergency that will leave her life hanging in the balance over the next few of episodes and it appears one of the street’s residents is at fault.

Next week Emma is sent home from work after feeling unwell and collapses, leaving her unconscious.

After seeking guidance from doctor Ali Neeson (James Burrows), he advises her that she most likely has a bit of food poisoning and she will soon feel better.

But little did Ali know his assumption would be making Emma’s underlying emergency situation even worse.

Emma is raced to hospital in an ambulance where the nature of her condition is revealed.

Salon colleague Maria Connor (Samia Ghadie) asks former lover Ali to check Emma over, but Ali is distracted after finding out about his ex has planned a date with builder Gary.

The side-tracked doctor gives Emma a brief diagnosis of food poisoning before sending her home to get some rest.

But things soon take a turn for the worst as she collapses and falls unconscious, found by Maria and Gary when they return to the flat.

After they call an ambulance, she’s raced to hospital where the trio are met by Steve.

It looks like Steve isn’t prepared to forget about this mistake but what does this mean for Ali?

Will Emma be okay?
