Corrie fans realise where theyve seen barman as they predict Cathy exit twist

Coronation Street fans have predicted a huge twist as a new character steps foot on the cobbles.

Cocktail barman Jim Fizz entered the Rovers Return on Monday after being hired by landlady Jenny Connor to deliver a masterclass.

Jenny and barmaid Daisy Midgeley were joined by neighbours Evelyn Plummer and Cathy Matthews.

Cathy had been letting off some steam after storming out of The Kabin. She told her friends about partner Brian Packham's unromantic proposal and how he had once again tried to convince her to move to Cornwall.

Cathy also revealed she had made a shocking discovery, which some fans believe could spark her exit from the ITV soap.

She has recently found letters sent between Brian and his ex Julie Carp.

Cathy said: "I found these letters, he'd been writing to Julie Carp.

"It was when all of that trolling stuff was going on. Answer me this, okay, why is he even writing to her at all? He's obviously missed her, in fact he said so."

Cathy also said that Julie had asked Brian if he ever thought about them getting back together. When asked what he said in response, Cathy replied: "I don't know, it was the last letter I found."

The neighbours didn't have much time to chat as Jim Fizz entered to deliver the class.

Speaking to Daisy, he said: "You were feisty on the phone, I thought you were a redhead. I love redheads and I've got myself a treat today haven't I?

"I am Jim Fizz, mixologist extraordinaire."

Jim served the women a steady stream of cocktails, leaving Cathy heavily under the influence.

Evelyn later walked into the pub's garden and was shocked to find a drunk Cathy and Jim sharing a kiss, whilst Brian was out looking for his partner.

Some fans were left wondering where they had seen the barman before.

Commenting on Facebook, Eileen Booth said: "I am sure I know the barman in it tonight. He looks familiar," to which Cheryl Doyle replied: "It's doing mine n hubby's head in tonight, been on Google but nothing?"

Kate Harris then said: "He's a stand-up comedian/actor called Smug Roberts. He's been in numerous programmes including Mrs Brown's Boys as the bar owner Mr Foley."

Other fans took to Twitter to predict a twist ahead, as it has already been confirmed that Cathy will leave the soap, after actress Melanie Hill quit.

One person said: "#Corrie So Cathy will leave the street with this fella!"

Another wrote: "Oh no. Cathy isn’t gonna leave with him is she? @itvcorrie #Corrie."

One fan Tweeted: "Is Cathy going to run off with this guy #Corrie"
