Corrie spoiler sees Adam left for dead after Lydia attacks him in gruesome snaps

Coronation Street has released new explosive spoiler photos showing the moment Adam Barlow is left for dead after he is brutally attacked by ex Lydia Chambers.

Only recently, Lydia, who has been making Adam's life hell and scheming for weeks to get revenge, pretended that she was having an affair with the solicitor to his wife Sarah.

Lydia, who has been creating fake evidence and clues to support her lie, has been successful in destroying his marriage and in upcoming scenes she wants Adam to admit what he did.

Soap watchers will recall that the duo previously dated at university for six months — a relationship Adam had forgot, leaving Lydia even more furious as she threatened: "I’m going to dismantle your life like you dismantled mine."

In an upcoming showdown between the exes, Lydia confronts Adam about their past again as he refuses to acknowledge any of the hurt he caused.

This results in Lydia losing her temper as she lashes out and shoves him, which leads to Adam falling off a balcony while being left bloodied and unconscious on the floor.

Will Adam survive the fall and will Sarah finally find out the truth about Lydia's revenge plan?

It comes after ITV confirmed to the Mirror that Lydia, who has been continuing to make Adam's life hell, will leave the ITV soap as her gripping storyline comes to an end later this month.

With Digital Spy reporting that Lydia star Rebecca Ryan, 30, filmed her final scenes last month with it always planned for the character just to appear for the Adam and Sarah storyline.

Earlier this year, Coronation Street teased an explosive "knife-edge showdown" between Lydia and Adam on the ITV soap.

Teasing what viewers can expect, Coronation Street boss Iain MacLeod said: "We’ve got heart-stopping, high-stakes drama for Sarah, featuring a knife-edge showdown between Adam and his tormentor Lydia.

"Which will leave you wondering which one’s the bad guy. All of this in one big serving per night. What’s not to love?"

Coronation Street continues on weekdays on ITV.
