'Counting On': Jinger Duggar's $4,000 Monthly Rental in L.A. Is a Big Upgrade from Her Texas Home

Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo have seriously upgraded their lifestyle since moving from Texas to California. The Counting On couple are paying $4,000 a month to rent a four-bedroom, two-bath home in Los Angeles’s San Fernando Valley, according to Radar Online. The tabloid even shared photos of the exterior of the 2,000-square-foot home.

The home is worth almost $700,000

Radar reports that the spacious home was built in 1953 but completely remodeled in 2015. Its estimated value is $685,000. However, it’s not clear if Jinger and Jeremy own the property or are merely renting it.

So far, Counting On fans have gotten a few glimpses of the home’s interior on social media, but the couple hasn’t a shared a full tour. Chances are, audiences will see more of the house on the upcoming season of the TLC reality show.

It’s an upgrade from their home in Laredo

Jinger and Jeremy’s new home is a significant upgrade from their former digs in terms of both price and size.

According to Webb County property records, the couple’s former home in the Highland Park neighborhood of Laredo was valued at $171,130. Though it also had four bedrooms and two baths, it was a bit smaller than their new house at approximately 1,500 square feet.

The Vuolos sold their Texas house in early June for $199,000, according to Zillow. The pair made significant upgrades to the property in 2018 before the birth of their daughter Felicity, putting in a trendy new kitchen with white cabinets and subway tile and making other upgrades.

How do the Vuolos make money?

The Vuolos moved to Los Angeles so that Jeremy could complete his graduate studies at the Master’s Seminary. Given that he’s a student and she’s a stay-at-home mom, some have wondered how the couple can afford to live in one of the most expensive cities in the country.

The Vuolos haven’t revealed any details about their finances, but they do earn money from Counting On. The Duggars are reportedly paid $25,000 to $40,000 per episode of the show, though it’s not clear how that money is divided among the different family members.

The Vuolos also have a few side hustles. Jinger offers personalized videos for fans on Cameo for $60, while Jeremy’s shout-outs go for $40. And both she and Jeremy have shared sponsored posts on Instagram, such as his recent ad for Felix Gray Eyewear and another paid partnership with Christian publisher Banner of Truth.

Prior to moving to California, Jeremy worked as a pastor in Texas. It’s not clear exactly what his salary was, but pastors in the city near the Mexico border typically earn between $69,844 and $96,320 per year, according to Salary.com.

If the couple decides to stay in Los Angeles after he finishes school, he can expect a bit of a pay bump. Pastors in the Southern California city earn an average of $108,629, with salaries generally falling between $89,287 and $123,133.
