Dancing On Ice's Brendan Cole shares video with rarely seen daughter after social media u-turn

DANCING On Ice star Brendan Cole has made the decision show his daughter’s face on social media for the first time.

The 45-year-old admitted the time had come to let Aurelia, nine, make her “own decisions” about if she wanted to be seen online and revealed that she has her own social media account already.

Sharing a touching video of himself dancing with Aurelia, he explained: “We have always tried not to post photos of our beautiful children’s faces to the world of social media, at least until we felt they were old enough to make their own decisions about being seen or not.

“The time has come where my daughter wants to be involved and after spending the last few Sundays on the telebox supporting daddy, I figured it was ok as she is has now well and truely been seen.”

The dancer continued: “This is something she posted to her Instagram account (private).

“I had no idea what she was doing when she said to me… ‘do this with me daddy’ and low and behold it was suddenly appearing on my feed on the gram!!!! ?”

Proud Brendan added: “I really love the fact that’s she’s growing up and turning into a beautiful young lady but would love her to keep her innocence a little longer.”

Aurelia has been supporting her dad during his time on the show alongside his stunning wife Zoe.

Brendan and Zoe welcomed daughter Aurelia on Christmas Day in 2012 and are also parents to a son called Dante, born in 2018.

He is currently gearing up for the Dancing On Ice final this weekend, which will see him compete against Regan Gascoigne and Kimberly Wyatt.

Speaking about claims the show was fixed because all three of them are trained dancers, Brendan insisted DOI would suffer without competitors with the full range of abilities.

He said: “I think the fact we have a dance background has only improved things on the ice. The stuff we’ve been able to do because of that background has been special.

“People are always going to complain, we’ll never change their minds. All we can do is our best on the ice.

“There’s something cool about the fact we’re all here, we’ve all got dance backgrounds so we’ve got that performance element. You’re not worried about somebody not performing — you know all of us will be on it.”
