Dancing On Ices Stef Reid says she will still do big lifts despite nasty fall

Paralympian Stef Reid has informed her online followers that she will still take part in "big lifts" despite experiencing a horrifying fall hours before appearing on Dancing On Ice.

The star who made her debut on the show on Sunday night had a tumble with her dance partner Andy Buchanan before the live programme kicked off on ITV but still took part in her skate in spite of her nasty drop.

Taking to Instagram recently, Steff explained what happened behind the scenes to her fans in a video and how she is currently feeling at the moment.

Appearing alongside her dance partner Andy, she said in the clip: "So yesterday as you would have seen, we took a little bit of a tumble in rehearsal.

"We're both totally fine, honestly, it was our easier lift, it's never happened it was just a freak accident."

Showing a clip of how the lift is usually done, Stef continued: "So basically I wasn't quite straight with this leg. So as I came up my foot grazed one of Andy's which wouldn't have been an issue but it was just by chance."

Adding to the story while showing the hook that Steff accidentally hit, Andy explained: "Her toe pick hit my hook and that's what it looks like now and it was broken."

Talking about the lift again, Stef said: "So Andy saved the lift, thank goodness, he took most of the fall," she laughed.

Andy chimed: "I was bruised but not injured."

Stef replied: "Honestly, I just grazed my knee, so that's that. We're still gonna do big lifts."

On Sunday night's show, Stef scored an impressive 24 points from the judges, however, the studio audience deemed the score to be too low and reacted negatively to the results.

Despite the evident uproar, viewers at home believed 24 was a strong score for Stef and shared their thoughts on Twitter.

One viewer wrote: "So so brave. Good timing, nice lifts and an overall fun performance. I would have liked a little more coverage and speed over the ice and less stationary moments. But wow. Inspirational and so great to see. Well done Stef. Score: 5.5."
