EastEnders Big Mo star strips off for a good cause

EastEnders icon Laila Morse is set to bare all for a good cause as she has joined the line-up for Strictly the Real Full Monty.

The Big Mo legend was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 and has signed up for the contest to raise awareness of checking your body for signs of cancer.

She is among other celebrities taking part in a dancing contest that will also see them strip naked – a brave move by all but most certainly a worthwhile endeavour.

Ashley Banjo will be leading the choreography, ready to take the famous Full Monty strip to a whole new level.

Along with Laila, other participants include professional dancers and husband and wife James and Ola Jordan, Blue singer Duncan James, model Christine McGuiness, Olympian Colin Jackson, musical theatre and Loose Women star Brenda Edwards, TV presenter Martin Roberts and Love Island favourites Teddy Soares and Demi Jones.

They all have stories to tell about how cancer has touched the lives of themselves or those closest to them.

Ashley will support the anxious celebrities as they take on a completely new twist in front of an audience in Blackpool, determined to remind viewers that getting private areas checked can save their lives.

Ashley said: ‘I’m so excited to be working with a new brilliant, bold and brave line-up of celebrities for Strictly the Real Full Monty. It’s going to be our biggest musical dance extravaganza yet and we are determined to get the message out there that early cancer checks in intimate areas save lives. So don’t forget to check your bits and baubles this Christmas!’

ITV Factual Commissioner Kate Teckman said: ‘This year we’re bringing our message with a bang by adding a huge dose of sequins, sparkles, sambas and salsas to the strip. They’ll also be star guest performances and stunning solos so hold onto your mirror balls – this is strictly the most ambitious Full Monty yet!’

Laila left EastEnders earlier this year to spend time in Spain but assured Metro.co.uk exclusively that she had not quit nor was she axed so the door is well and truly open for Mo to come home.
