Eastenders' Katie Jarvis 'gets a real job' in providing for family shocker

Ex-Eastenders star Katie Jarvis has landed herself a new role as a security guard at a B&M instead of becoming a starving artist cliché.

The 28-year-old actress has opted to provide for her two children Lillie May, 10, and eight-year-old Alfie, rather than fight her way through an uncertain and difficult industry.

Spotted at her new workplace, Katie confirmed that she was securing a steady paycheque while she’s in between roles.

‘I’ve taken a step back from acting. I’ve got a job and I’m looking after my kids,’ she told Daily Star Sunday.

Fair play to her, to be honest. God forbid someone actually earn a living or even wanting to try a new direction in life.

Katie’s best known for playing in Eastenders playing Hayley Slater – who wreaked havoc across Albert Square after having an one-night stand with her cousin Kat’s (Jessie Wallace) husband Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) in 2018.

Things got complicated when she had a baby girl, Cherry, with Alfie, and Kat discovered the truth on Christmas day for an explosive festive episode.

Her character later ran away from a mental health facility in February, leaving an open possibility for return, fans thought she may make a reappearance in the future.

But since then the actress has not taken on any new roles.

And if she wants to give up acting all together, more power to her. Good on her for putting her family first.
