EastEnders Scarlett Butcher star Tabitha Byron wows crowd with other talent

EastEnders character Scarlett Butcher – daughter of Michael Moon and Janine Butcher – is played by child actor Tabitha Byron.

Scarlett returned to EastEnders last year after nine years away from the soap because she was caught up in a messy custody battle, with Kat Moon eventually agreeing that she should be with her mum Janine.

But 11-year-old Tabitha has been in various other shows aside from ‘Enders including playing Constance Calendar in CBBC series Hetty Feather from 2017 until 2021, and in 2018 she appeared in National Theatre Live: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

However, acting isn’t the only thing this talented little girl can do.

It turns out she’s a fantastic singer, too.

Tabby – or whoever manages her social media – posted a fun video on Twitter of her belting out Bjork’s It’s Oh So Quiet on stage at her drama school.

Wearing a red baseball jacket Tabby manages to hit all the notes.

In another clip, she can be seen singing Diamonds by Rihanna with a fellow young performer at Haringey Youth Festival.

Rihanna better watch out!

In other child actor news, Titanic’s Reece Thompson has revealed that he's still earning money from his role as the “little Irish boy” in Titanic – even 25 years after the film.

The former child actor was only five years old when he appeared as a third-class passenger on board the Titanic in the classic 1997 movie.

Now at 30 years old, Reece is the digital marketing director at Brian Head Resort – a skiing and snowboarding facility in Utah.

Reece told Business Insider: "It turned out to be one of the highest-grossing films in history, so it's pretty bizarre in retrospect."

The actor, who started out as a child model, said he received cheques in the 'low thousands' for the role on a quarterly basis, but the figure dropped to around £150 to £250 a year.

Thompson said: "It's weird because it's not present in my mind anymore," he said. "It's not like, 'Oh, when am I going to get a new "Titanic" cheque?' When it happens, it's like, 'Oh, cool, an extra $100."
