EastEnders spoilers: Linda Carter to cheat on Mick as star teases ‘horrendous’ New Year

EastEnders fan-favourite couple will be pushed to breaking point as Linda Carter (played by Kellie Bright) struggles to cope and turns to alcohol to drown her sorrows. But fans could see her reliance on booze spin out of control in the New Year, leading to unforgivable consequences.

Linda struggles to deal with her many problems, but her new found coping mechanism could push her marriage to Mick (Danny Dyer) to breaking point, after finding herself in trying situations.

In recent episodes of the BBC soap, Linda was strung up in court over a drink driving charge, and while she hoped to keep it a secret from Mick and the rest of her family, her concerned husband found out.

Slapped with a nine-month driving ban, to viewers dismay, more desperate situations are set to come for the troubled landlady.

She continues to uncharacteristically lash out at her loved ones and in true soap style, things will take a turn for the worst over the festive season.

Could fans see Linda lose her family when she needs them the most?

Will her problem lead her to cheat on Mick as she depends on booze to get her through the day?

Speaking to Digital Spy, Kellie who plays Linda teased the dark storyline that will embroil her character in the New Year.

“What everyone has seen of Linda so far is only the tip of the iceberg,” she hinted.

“She’s said to Mick that with it being Christmas, it would be weird if she didn’t have a drink with the punters and they talk about doing Dry January instead.

Kellie explains that Linda wants to “press pause on her life,” turning to alcohol to make “everything stop”.

“The thing about Linda is, that when she is drunk, you see a side to her you’ve not seen before and it’s very unpredictable, dark and dangerous,” she said.

“I think her drinking gets as bad as it could. What she does whilst under the influence of alcohol is pretty horrendous.”

Is this the bombshell fans need to confirm cheating rumours?

If so, to make matters worse, will there be a local resident thrown into the mix?

Kellie revealed there is a reason for Linda hitting rock bottom, but BBC bosses have kept it all under wraps for what fans can only imagine will be explosive scenes to come.

But in the meantime, will her wreckless actions tear the Carter clan apart?

Or will she realise that she needs to change her ways after she pushes things too far?
