Elton John’s jilted ex-fiancée reveals disappointment she's not mentioned in new film despite two year relationship

ELTON John’s jilted ex-fiancee has spoken of her disappointment of not being included in the new film about his life despite being with him for two years.

Linda Hannon, 75, was all set to marry Elton – then called Reg – with the cake and registry office ceremony all booked, when he called it off at 4am in the morning.

Speaking to Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid via video link on today’s Good Morning Britain, she said: “Sometimes I wonder if he has forgotten about me. I was disappointed not to be in the movie.”

Linda hasn’t heard from him after he walked out but was surprised to see their romance was erased from Rocketman, which sees Taron Egerton playing the singer.

She believes he was convinced to dump her on his stag do by pals Bernie and Long John Baldry.

The two friends allegedly warned him he'd "ruin two lives" if the marriage went ahead.

It's this episode that she claims was the inspiration behind Elton's song Someone Saved My Life Tonight.

The hit contains the lyrics, "You almost had your hooks in me, didn't you dear?" – which Linda believes is a thinly-veiled reference to their split.

Linda, who says she had no clue that he was gay, said: “We were together for almost two years . I was in love and I think he was too. The relationship was going smooth.

“Everything was going very quickly. I went off to the antique shop and got my ring because he had no money.

“He came back at 4am and tells me it’s all over. And that was the last time I ever saw him.”

Despite her heartbreak, Linda has no hard feelings, saying:  “I am very happy for him. I never believed he would become the superstar that he is.

“I would like to hear from him. I don’t know what I would say to him.”
