Emmerdale's Jurell Carter posts stomach-churning photo of blood gushing out of his back in bizarre 'cupping' treatment

EMMERDALE actor Jurell Carter left fans squirming as he shared a shot of blood filled cups attached to his back.

The Nate Robinson actor, loved by fans of the ITV soap, shared a gory glimpse of what he does in his down-time on his Instagram Stories.

Jurell, 25, captured a glimpse of his back as he lay on the treatment table.

His first shot showed four suction cups on his back, while the second image revealed a part of his face peeking through the couch and the caption: "Wahum."

The Leicester-born actor appeared to have plumped for the celeb-favourite cupping treatment, loved by the likes of Madonna and Jack Fincham.

He tagged the Icaht Clinic, which describes itself as a "centre of integrative medicine" with clinics in Leicester, Bristol and Cardiff.

Cupping therapy is a form of alternative medicine where heated cups are placed on the skin to create local suction.

The cups are left on the skin for a few minutes – prompting the painful looking red marks – and it can help target pain, inflammation and blood flow as well as prompting relaxation.

According to Medicinenet.com cupping "improves overall health by removing the energy blockages that TCM practitioners identify as barriers to the flow of healthy energy."

Athletes often use the form of therapy to target blood flow to a particular area of the body.

Yet it appears Jurell has undergone the procedure to help prepare for a major new Emmerdale storyline which sees the return of his on-screen mum, Cara.

Kim Kardashian, Kaley Cuoco, Jennifer Aniston and Victoria Beckham have all opted for cupping in the past, while Madonna previously took to her Instagram to celebrate her "cupping scars."

Yet fans of Jack Fincham were left disgusted after he had what he called "dead blood" removed from his body via cupping.

The Love Island winner, 29, stripped off at the Abdelkabar Cupping Clinic, London, and laid face down on a table ready for his session to begin.

In total, 21 cups were placed onto his bare skin, from his calves up to the back of his scalp.

Jack was left stunned afterwards when he was shown some of his solidified blood.

He joked: "That's madness. It's like a jellyfish."

It's not the first time Jack has been in for the treatment, so he must be fan.
