Game of Thrones: Deleted Beric Dondarrion scene revealed huge Jon Snow secret

Game of Thrones viewers were utterly distraught by the final episode of season five, when Jon Snow (played by Kit Harington) was killed off by the rest of the Night’s Watch. It followed Jon’s rise to power as the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch.

While many of his comrades didn’t like him during the run up to season six, his death was completely shocking.

But fans were elated, however, in the sixth season when Jon was resurrected by the supernatural powers of Melisandre (Carice van Houten) – the red witch.

Since Jon’s resurrection, he embarked on a journey to take down the Night King (Vladimir Furdik) once and for all.

Neither characters nor viewers ever truly learned about the experience Jon had during death, but now some light may have been shed on it.

Since the release of the show’s final box set, many deleted scenes have been viewed by fans, as well as some extra interactions in the scripts.

Some of these scenes seemed to hold secrets about the finer details of the world of Westeros.

And one scene involving Beric Dondarrion (Richard Dormer) may have revealed a huge secret about Jon’s death, which went on to affect him in life.

During the eighth season, many of the show’s characters enjoyed a more subdued evening just before the undead attacked.

In this episode many of the characters who hadn’t spoken much beforehand began conversing, and telling stories about themselves.

One scene saw the Hound (Rory McCann) speaking with Beric until late at night.

At the end of there chat, the Hound tells the formerly dead warrior to “get some sleep”.

Beric responded: “Haven’t slept since the first time I died. No point starting now.”

Beric is the only other character on the show to have been resurrected by the Lord of Light’s powers.

So then, it could be assumed Jon has also lost the ability to sleep.

With so much resting on Jon’s shoulders in the final season, to say he was stressed would be an understatement.

Would the stress and his supernatural life have prevented him from falling asleep?
