GMB in format shake-up as new segment dedicated to host Richard Madeley launches

Daily Star TV gives you all the latest interviews and spoilers and Ed Gleave will send you telly’s hot takes straight to your inbox every Sunday

Good Morning Britain has introduced a new segment as part of their entertainment coverage by Richard Arnold.

While the hosts would normally give a general round-up of the show each week, GMB has decided to give their very own Richard Madeley an extra little air-time.

Richard, who left the show for isolation earlier this month, has entered the I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! castle with various other stars including Louise Minchin and Frankie Bridge.

While he gears up for all kinds of gruelling challenges on the show, his pals back at ITV are making sure that none are missed.

On Monday morning's show, Richard Arnold gave his usual entertainment update which, as expected, is likely to focus widely around I'm A Celeb for the next few weeks.

While he gave an update on the people in the castle and the challenges they faced last night, he welcomed their brand new segment.

The segment appears on top of their normal entertainment breakdown and takes place seconds after the latest entertainment gossip.

After the overall information about I'm A Celeb appeared on the TV, a small image of Madeley's face appeared on screen alongside a banner which read: "Madeley's magic moments".

Entertainment mogul Richard Arnold then said: "Hopefully that intro will get longer…" as he confessed that bosses will be sharing Richard's best moments on the screen each day he remains in the castle.

The scene on Monday morning saw a snippet from the launch show with Madeley and David Ginola trying to start a fire together while they remained in their campsite.

It looks like any GMB fans who may not have witnessed I'm A Celeb the night before will still see the controversial TV host on the morning show with the short segment.

Richard joined his fellow celebs in the castle for the launch night of the brand new series of the show.

Although it would usually take place in Australia, following Covid-19 rules, the series has once again resumed in Gwrych Castle in Wales.

Despite a different location, the challenges remain just as gruelling for the many celebs who take part in the series.

Celebs will now work together to gain surprises while the public votes for their favourite start to ultimately win the series and be crowned king or queen of the castle.
