Happy Valley fans work out Ryan twist for final episode of hit BBC One drama
Happy Valley viewers think they have figured out a huge Ryan Cawood twist for the final episode of the hit BBC One police drama.
The last ever episode will air next Sunday 5th February at 9pm and show watchers are convinced they have rumbled how it will end.
During the latest instalment, Tommy Lee Royce, played by James Norton, went into hiding after his explosive and energetic escape during his court hearing last week.
While protective grandmother Catherine Cawood, played by Sarah Lancashire, feared for Ryan and her family's safety as she put them into hiding away from their home addresses.
However, in a twist viewers and the police sergeant didn't see coming, Tommy, who is planning to escape to Spain with Ryan, used his gaming console to communicate with his son.
Claiming to have remembered his user name from a prison visit, Tommy was able to chat to Ryan over the game using a fake name as they later voice called.
Viewers now think and hope that Ryan is actually setting his dad up by talking to him over the gaming console and will feed it back to his grandmother.
While some show watchers even think Ryan will kill Tommy in a bid to protect Catherine.
Taking to Twitter, one person said: "Ryan is setting his dad up, isn’t he? Trying to get info, trying to save the day #HappyValley."
A different account put: "Ryan better be setting Tommy up! How is there only 1 more episode?! I'm screaming! #SarahLancashire is killing it! #HappyValley."
Another viewer wrote: "So my theory is Ryan shoots Tommy to defend his gran. The end #HappyValley."
A different show watcher said: "I have a feeling Ryan will kill Tommy in the end #HappyValley."
While another viewer added: "Also, now that Ryan understands what TLR did to his mother, ( very detailed by Ann, still mad at her) I think he’ll try to meet up with him, double cross him, end up protecting Catherine, cause Tommy wants revenge, Ryan kills him in self defence #HappyValley."
Elsewhere, one show watcher had a rather simple yet amusing ending: "Or what if the show literally just ends with Catherine being abducted by aliens? #HappyValley."
Happy Valley airs next Sunday 5th February at 9pm on BBC One.
